Don't Be Scammed!

The Butler County Area Agency on Aging (AAoA) is a community service agency for senior citizens and has operated in Butler County since 1984. The agency is funded by the Pennsylvania State Lottery, the Federal Older Americans Act, the County of Butler, service fees and private donations by seniors and their families. Governed by the Older Americans Act of 1965 (revised in 2005) and the Pennsylvania Department of Aging, the Butler County Area Agency on Aging is one of 52 AAoAs statewide that provide information and services to help seniors remain independent in the community for as long as possible.

The Area Agency on Aging administers programs and manages services for Butler County residents who are 60 years of age or older. Agency programs and services are designed to serve approximately 37,000 older consumers who call Butler County home.

Helping You Remain Independent in the Community

The AAoA currently provides services to approximately 6,000 senior citizens a year in Butler County. Services are supportive in nature and range from activities for healthy, active seniors to intensive home health services for homebound older adults. Home health services require an assessment by a caseworker in your home to determine your eligibility.  Other AAoA services are available simply by request. Most services are available on a cost-share basis using a sliding fee scale based on the consumer's income.
